Jake grew up on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Orem, UT. He spent his time hiking, playing sports, and reading T.A. Baron. He received his BFA in acting from Brigham Young University and has worked for Goodspeed Opera House, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, Pickleville Playhouse, and Hale Center Theater. He is a proud member of Actors' Equity.
He just finished a run of Bye Bye Birdie as Harvey Johnson at the Goodspeed Opera House. After starring in the feature film Lovestruck! (The Laycock Center) and the web series Pick Your Own Adventure (PYOA Films), Jake made the move to NYC. He then performed as a featured soloist for The Development Wing's Broadway Under the Stars with Roz Ryan, Ken Prymus, Jonathan Brielle, and Jeffrey Klitz. He followed that with being the swing and assistant dance captain for the NETworks National Tour of Elf the Musical.
Some favorite roles include Sparky (Forever Plaid), Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors), Henry (Next to Normal), Mr. Collins (Pride and Prejudice), and the Stage Manager (Our Town)—for which he was recognized nationally by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) for Distinguished Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role. In 2014, he was a KCACTF Irene Ryan National Finalist.
